Robot Welder Cell Investment

Supporting the growth of its steel fabrication and machine guarding business, Beakbane has invested in a robot welding cell. The robot welder, which is capable of welding assemblies up to 900mm in length, was installed earlier this year and is now operational supporting several customer projects.

Beakbane selected Robotic & Automation Integrator Bauromat to provide the HiArc Compact Weld Cell. This was complemented with a Fronius CMT Weld system and Kawasaki robot arm. The CMT (Cold Metal Transfer) weld technology was chosen to produce reduced splatter, faster welding and lower temperatures, supporting welding of thinner materials .

Mike Southwell, Managing Director at Beakbane commented “The robot welder is a key element in the growth of the fabrication activity. It allows Beakbane to deliver higher volume fabrications with improved consistency and quality.”
